Green Fuse Burning by @cryptidsarecute is reviewed Green Fuse Burning by @cryptidsarecute is reviewed in the Canadian literary trade magazine Quill & Quire!

"For Morris, grief, abuse, and trauma require serious medicine – the kind that can as easily kill as cure. Her novella showcases stylish, atmospheric writing as it delves into a shadowy, assaultive wilderness whose feral form belies its restorative properties."

It's the first picture of the new Arboreality in t It's the first picture of the new Arboreality in the wild! The new version has a silky matte cover, gold foil title text, and we've aged and distressed the Ursula K Le Guin Prize and Philip K Dick awards medallions to integrate with the book's aesthetic. What you can't see in this picture is the lovely aged botanical sketches on the interior covers, and the cream 100% recycled paper its printed on.

This book would make a beautiful gift for lovers of heartbreaking and hopeful stories, west coast landscapes, trees, and gorgeous prose. You can get the special edition version of Arboreality from us: https://www.stelliform.press/index.php/product/arboreality-by-rebecca-campbell/

A small submissions period cry into the digital ab A small submissions period cry into the digital abyss:

So we're in our last month of open submissions and have received far fewer subs than our two previous sub periods, despite now having a pretty solid track record of high quality award winning work. We would love to see more submissions from BIPOC writers.

We have received ZERO submissions from anyone identifying themselves as a Black writer. It's pretty embarrassing. If this continues to the end of the period, we will likely stay open to Black writers worldwide and BIPOC Canadian writers.

If you are a BIPOC writer with any inclination toward submitting a novella, novel, short story collection, or comic with a speculative environmental focus, I am happy to chat about your submission via email (query@stelliform.press) and, whenever possible, extend deadlines.

BIPOC writers, if your work is accepted, the person you will work with primarily through the editing and publication process is a (albeit white presenting) biracial WOC.

This of course doesn't mean I automatically will pick up whatever you're putting down, but I am open-minded, conscious of power dynamics and wider systems of power, curious about storytelling traditions around the world, and flexible in my approaches. Please submit!
The last of our eligible works is a beautiful and The last of our eligible works is a beautiful and startling scream into the void - and the void answers! Tiffany Morris's (@cryptidsarecute) Green Fuse Burning is a dark fantasy/horror novella that contends with the connections between grief, family, and a changing world. This swampcore novella invites the reader to sink into the swamp and a challenging process of transformation.

As with all our 2023 titles, this book is available on the SFWA forums!
